PREVIEW
The performance recreates the suspended atmosphere of places where bodies are summoned to forced proximity: a waiting room, an office antechamber, the backstage of a theatre. In this scenario, the main action seems to take place elsewhere, evoked by the sound and the continuous comings and goings of the performers between inside and outside. In this space, where identities and biographies are deferred, sound vibrations linger that seem to refer to the audible limits of ultra and infrasound, processing low and high frequencies. This generates a sound world full of uncertainty, where a collection of dances with different lengths and atmospheres is performed, evoking a desire for disappearance, for the dissolution of identity in the pure dynamic flow of movement. These dances are entirely dedicated to letting what we are disappear in order to focus on what we become: they are an archive of “futurity”, a word invented to express the opposite of the stylistic catalogue, a new choreographic dimension that draws on the entire technical repertoire of dance to arrive at unprecedented and complex kinetic visions, heralding a new desire for proximity, aimed at the creation of new ecosystems.
The image that most closely resembles this constantly changing choreographic vision is undoubtedly that of the coral reef, a complex and fragile environment that is the result of layered agreements and symbiosis between organisms, an ecosystem in which interdependence is one of the main aspects of the structural configuration of every living being. And so every individual manifestation of dance actually contributes to defining an environment of possibility, generated by the condition of stalemate and waiting that seems to characterise this strange place, by the fragility intrinsic in every small temporary community.
