VEDUTA_ATLANTE MEDITERRANEO

Following the numerous successes of the performance VEDUTA>Roma which in the last three editions of Fuori Programma allowed us to visit exceptional places and look at the city with enchanted eyes, mk and the Orbita|Spellbound National Dance Production Centre have come together to create a special version: Veduta_Atlante Mediterraneo. Dance, cinema, music and land art are organically intertwined in the project, focusing on unleashing the perceptive qualities of those who watch/listen.

The performance interprets the landscape as a trajectory rather than a territory, a dynamic place where cultural stratifications and anthropological misunderstandings intersect. In this project, dance is literally a point of view on the world that inscribes and affirms the figure in the space of the community while suggesting an escape route. The project is the result of collaboration between artists from different fields: alongside the core group of mk performers, there are Filippo Arlenghi from the Spellbound Contemporary Ballet team and Ilyes Triki, who has already collaborated with Orbita | Spellbound on previous cultural twinning projects, will dance.

Veduta_Atlante Mediterraneo is a modular format, adapted to the morphology of the city and the views offered by the urban perspective. The audience enjoys the performance through headphones, looking out from a panoramic viewpoint of the city. The viewpoint is wide and can encompass spaces that are very close and very far away, connected to each other by the soundtrack (recorded in holophony with a strong cinematic imprint) and by the location of the performers. Strange conspiracies and mysterious activities redraw the here and now to reinterpret urbanity through postures and signs of an elsewhere that reaffirms its presence by escaping cultural identity. The panoramic view is transformed by listening into a place that floats between the present and the possible, a glimpse into the space of altermodernity, where diversity transcends multiculturalism in favour of an intangible heritage of the body. Reality is now blurred, now sharply focused by sound, which presides over the imaginative power of vision and makes it possible to multiply details in a place with imaginary and contradictory coordinates.
