Between the Lines was born from a reflection on our times, where overthinking hypnotizes minds, suffocates bodies, and weakens the fundamental connection between body, mind, and soul. Directed by choreographer Ilyes Triki, this work explores the invisible scars of our modern lives and offers a resonant space to reconnect humanity with its essence. The core of the project lies in this fundamental tension between stillness and movement. Two dancers embody this duality: a body trapped, frozen, and a mind attempting to reestablish a connection, but in an inorganic way. The choreographic movements translate this inner struggle, where resistance against mental oppression becomes the driving force behind bodily liberation.
The format of the work transcends traditional performance to become an immersive choreographic exhibition. The dancers evolve in a museum-like universe, where each gesture, each interaction, becomes a living sculpture, an invitation to contemplate the weight of overthinking on the human body.

Ilyes Triki is a versatile dancer and choreographer, initially trained in breakdance in 2010 before joining the Ballet de l'Opéra de Tunis in 2018. His extensive international experience includes collaborations with renowned companies such as Emilio Calcagno's ECO-cie in France, Aluma Company in Canada, and Fabrica Europa in Italy.
Bridging his background in mechanical engineering with his journey through ballet and breakdance, Ilyes has crafted a distinctive choreographic style, exemplified in projects such as B.A.D., the solo Balance, and the duet Between the Lines. His artistic exploration also extends to short films, working on both national and international projects such as Chambre-19 and Neglected Places by Isabella Daffara—created during the COVID era—as well as Environmental Dance by Christoph Winkler.
In his work, Ilyes focuses on the depths of human experience—its relationships with the environment, its reactions, vulnerabilities, strengths, states of mind, fantasies, and inner worlds. His choreographic approach, marked by sincerity and originality, seeks to move and inspire audiences by reflecting a profound understanding of the complexities of human existence.
