PLEASE, TOUCH!

Ph: Julien Benhamou

Fuori Programma reaches its ninth edition under the title Please, touch, Please, touch! an invitation to “touch” the expressive and cultural resonances carried by the several authors featured the program. Coming from four continents, they’re: Bassam Abou Diab (LB), Mk (IT), DOM- (IT), Brigel Gjoka & Rauf “Rubberlegz” Yasit (UK), ERTZA-Asier Zabaleta (MOZ), Salvo Lombardo (IT), Cie Linga (CH), Compagnie Zimarèl (GLP), Adriana Boriello (IT), Aristide Rontini (IT), Off Projects (NL), Frantics Dance Company (Germany), Graham Feeny (USA), Flavia Zaganelli (IT), Chey Jurado & Javito Mario (Spain).

Sense of touch suggests an involvement with dance that is almost carnal and aims to shorten the distances between ideological constructs and people. It’s a wish to narrow the gap between facts and thoughts, to fill the body matter with the guiding principles of a connection led by feelings rather than understanding. However, the elimination of this deviation between an event and its comprehension is not a regressive effect to allow fast thoughts to take command. Quite the opposite, it’s an attempt to breathe humanity where abuse of power, aggression, and distorted narrative modify sensitivity and build emotional systems that try to control and legitimate emotions, feelings, and attachments.

Please, touch! is a deictic gesture, a call to abandon caution to “put your hands” on matters that are starkly present. This sensory map guides us in a landscape, and the festival invites us to explore it at twilight. Parco Tor Tre Teste Alessandrino, Teatro India, Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo and Palazzo dei Cerchi – Ex pastificio Pantanellaare are geography of places currently inhabited by artistic communities and projects of outdoor performances specifically created for the festival. The aim is to create a dynamic flow so that the view that can be reached and enjoyed from many perspectives.
